No. Even though the BIT (external) degree programme is conducted through online,students are expected to come to the University for practical and semester examinations, project evaluations, workshops, etc. so you must be in Sri Lanka and able to come to the universities during the above mentioned times.
The intake dates, application deadlines, and other relevant details will be updated on the CODL website. CODL calls applications twice a year.
Yes, you can study the BIT program as a self-study mode student.
Yes. Many internal students from state universities are currently studying for the BIT (external) degree at the University of Moratuwa.
No. CODL will not accept any application with pending results.
No. CODL accepts applications only from candidates who have completed HNDIT including 6 months of in-plant training and holding the completion certificate.
Semester Coordinators, Module Coordinators and Online Instructors all are available to assist you with your studies and related issues. You will also have an opportunity to interact with academic and academic support staff of the BIT (external) degree programme and fellow students via discussion forums.
Once you make the relevant payment you will be given an account on the online Learning Management System (LMS) which allows you access to all your online course material. Once you log in to your LMS account you can register for each module relevant
to the semester.
Once you get registered for the semester you will be able to log in to Moodle. Moodle is a Learning Management System (LMS) where all the learning material relevant to your course will be accessible.
A formal request (letter/email) should be sent to CODL to change the mode of study. The CODL will assist you to proceed further. However, students will be allowed to change the mode of study only at the beginning of the semester.
No. CODL will not refund the amount which paid by the student. (Even though the registered student not participated in any academic activities.)
The Student should inform CODL and our Career Guidance Counselor would advise in this regard.
Yes. The student must first apply for de-registration. Once the approval is received, the student can re-register for the programme.
Yes. Student should inform CODL and should get de-registered from the degree.
Yes. If a student completes the first level of the BIT (external) degree programme, they will be awarded a diploma upon request. If a student completes the second level of the BIT (external) degree programme, they will be awarded a higher diploma upon request.
No. The CODL will not issue any letter confirming your grades or results, and transcripts will be issued only by the Examination Division of the University of Moratuwa.
